Hello No One,
Welcome to my new tech blog at jenstander.com. Here I will talk about current projects (mostly side projects), technical challenges I am facing and occasionally a fix I find that might help out others.
I might also mention food at times, I can’t help that.
A brief introduction to what I’m currently working doing:
1) 9-5 Job is at U.S. Equities Realty. There I’m primarily their web/php/mysql developer but really a jack of all trades as one tends to be when you are the only technical person on your team. My main challenges here usually involve technologies that I don’t enjoy much (Excel, Access, other Windows programming – or a lot of the legacy sites left for me to work on), but sometimes I get to do some fun things with php or cool things with css/jquery.
2) Freelance Stuff – For the past year, my main freelance project has been an application I created for a large group of clinics to convert their quality control process from paper to digital. I used Drupal to do this since Drupal handles user and role management so well and is easy to hook into with custom modules, which I created to customize Drupal to follow the clients’ business model.
and, that’s it.
