Veggie Sunday Dinner – November 14, 2010

Gyros: Writing this two weeks after the fact (I didn’t have a blog then!) so I’m sure I’ll miss stuff (and be even more vague than usual).  I wouldn’t even bother writing it, but I want to at least share the seitan recipe.  HERE IT IS.  I’ve always enjoyed my own homemade seitan, but this is lightyears better and is going to be the basis of all seitan I make in the future!  Anyways, I followed the recipe, sautéed up a bunch of it with onions and served it up on pita with some yogurt sauce I made by mixing yogurt, fresh dill, cucumber, garlic, onion and a freshly squeezed lemon.  I bet I put in salt in pepper too.

Greek Salad: The greek salad was very straight forward: roasted peppers, onion, olives and feta over greens.  Dressing was made by mixing balsamic, more fresh dill, garlic, olive oil and a dash of maple syrup.

Pastries: For dessert I cheated and purchased a small variety of treats from Pan Hellenic Pastry Shop.  Highly recommend treats from there!  I’m surprised I haven’t been there before and will be returning.

Well, I’m working on the google extension post and will document the future veggie dinners in more detail with pictures.
